 Dr Johann A. Briffa

I am currently a Lecturer in Computing at the University of Surrey. I'm affiliated with the Watermarking and Multimedia Security group, part of the Formal Methods and Security research group.

My general research interests involve Multimedia, Signal Processing, Coding Theory, and Parallel Computing. I am especially interested in applications that cross the boundaries between the different fields, and in practical implementation. Of particular interest are the fields of steganography and watermarking, combining signal and image processing with the application of error-control coding and multimedia compression algorithms.
I am constantly looking for students to pursue a PhD in my areas of interest. Feel free to get in touch if you feel so inclined.

 Other web sites I maintain:

- My Local Repository (local access only) - this site contains boot CD images and other useful software.
- My Debian Linux Mirror - this site is being maintained to facilitate Debian installations in Malta; currently the i386 and x86_64 binaries are mirrored, plus sources.
